Ealing’s gardens and green corners are buzzing with life thanks to the hard work of residents, schools and community groups. The winners of this year’s Ealing Biodiversity Awards for Gardens and Green Spaces have now been announced.
Organised by Cultivating Ealing in partnership with Ealing Council and ActForEaling, the 2025 awards highlight projects that support local wildlife and biodiversity. The celebration took place on Wednesday 10 September at the council’s headquarters, where the Mayor Cllr. Anthony Kelly, together with Lady Mayoress, Mrs Maria Kelly, judges and sponsors all applauded the creativity and dedication of everyone involved.
Entrants showcased all kinds of eco-friendly spaces—from front gardens and balconies to school gardens, allotments and community spaces.
Judges, all experienced gardeners, praised imaginative touches such as:
Pollinator-friendly planting
Bug hotels and wildlife nooks
Clever use of small spaces
Even a hedgehog door cut into a fence
The awards shine a spotlight on how local people are making Ealing greener, wilder and more sustainable—one garden at a time.
